A Widener faculty member experienced in
study and travel in Mexico accompanies the students from Widener and remains in
Cuernavaca to supervise the program from start to finish.
·
4 weeks of intensive Spanish language study
for students of all levels and ages in a beautiful and relaxed setting.
·
Students may be eligible to transfer 3
credits in accordance with Widener University’s guidelines for transferring
credit from other educational institutions.
·
Home stay with Mexican families, most of
whom reside within walking distance to school.
Students receive three home cooked meals per day.
·
Formal language study takes place at the
Cuauhnáhuac Spanish Language Institute in Cuernavaca, Mexico, a city known for
its year-round spring like climate, floral gardens, fine restaurants, and
important historical and archeological sites.
Cuernavaca is 1.5 hours from Mexico City and 3.5 hours from Acapulco.

Educational excursions to sites of
historical and cultural interest in Central Mexico such as the great pyramids of
Teotihuacán, Mexico City Museums, the colonial town of Taxco, and Indian markets
located near picturesque mountain villages, lakes and lagoons.
·
Artisan workshops for back strap weaving
and metal plate work.
·
Conversation Exchanges with Mexican
students studying English.
·
Possible Internships in the fields of
Hospitality, Medicine, Law, and Education for students with more advanced
language skills.
· Community service that involves working with disadvantaged young Mexican children.
