There is an error in Campbell's Biology on p. 59; Table 4.1.
The sulfur containing compound is ethylmercaptan (a.k.a. ethanethiol); not mercaptoethanol. Mercaptoethanol has the formula HSCH₂CH₂OH.
Thiols are molecules that posses sulfhydryl groups, regardless of the other groups that they have.
