Acquisitions Procedures

  1. Complete the LIBRARY REQUEST FORM. NOTE: requests received with circled titles on brochures or on scraps of paper are delayed until clerical help is able to transfer the information to the request forms.

  2. Rate the titles you select:

      A=Class use or essential for subject
      B=Suggested Reading
      C=Supplemental
      D=Peripheral

  3. Attach brochures, review or advertisement, including an order form, if available.

  4. Required readings for reserve should be marked as such with the course number on the top right corner of request form.

  5. Keep the pink copy for your files. To inquire about titles on order, call the Acquisitions Department and refer to title and/or author.

  6. Send request to your LIBRARY LIAISON.

  7. When your request is processed and catalogued, you will receive the original copy of your request slip with the call number written on it. Please retain this slip if you wish to locate the book on the shelves. The requestor will also be notified if the title is not available.

  8. The average delivery from domestic vendors/publishers is 2-5 weeks. If the ordering information is incomplete or if the title is from a foreign publisher, it will take longer for the material to arrive.
