Off-Campus Access to Online Indexes and Databases
 

Current Widener University students, faculty, and staff with a valid campus ID & who meed the technical requirements given below, may access online resources from off-campus locations. After configuring your Web browser per the instructions provided for your browser type, you will be prompted to enter your name and library barcode number (14 digits) from the back of your Widener Card. In order to connect to our indexes and databases you must:

  • Have a valid Widener ID Card
  • Have Java & JavaScript enabled (the default configuration) in your browser. If you currently have them disabled, you must change your configuration before you can connect to any of the indexes and databases.
  • Accept cookies. The default configuration is to accept all cookies.
  • Configure your browser to use the library's proxy server. You only need to configure your browser once. You will not need to reconfigure your browser to use the proxy server unless you remove the setting at some point.
