The
physics program provides a basic understanding of the various branches
of physics, acquaints the student with the methods of precise measurement
and mathematical analysis and provides a background of nontechnical subjects
appropriate to the educated person in today's culture. Students who plan
to pursue graduate work in fields allied to physics (e.g. biophysics) may
pursue a program of reduced loads in physics. The same option applies to
those students who intend to teach at the secondary level (see
Science
Education).
